Using the latest in speech biometrics, Invotec’s VC Logon™ combines a user’s unique voiceprint profile with other identity management attributes to authenticate and provide automatic logon and access to computer information. VC Logon™ strengthens secured authentication by identifying “who you say you are” instead of “who you key in you are” (as found in typical password-based system logons).
The process of enrolling to create a voiceprint takes less than 60 seconds, to be authenticated takes less than 15 seconds and is as simple as calling a voicemail box to check for messages.
Using key fob size tokens that change numbers every 60 seconds has become the norm in providing secured access to dial-in and Internet users. Yet, all these tokens do is provide a number, which is validated by a server as being valid only for a 60-second period of time. They do not authenticate the person who keys in the number, nor do they provide a means of offering challenge questions to further authenticate the identity of the person. Rather, they just provide a means of validating “you are what you key in you are”.
